Hello!
My name is Maartje Heymans and since 2006 I live in Espalion, France. I have followed the art schools in Rotterdam and Arnhem where I studied painting and sculpting. I paint and draw all my life, and since a few months I do this full-time. There are many subjects that interest me, at this moment I draw portraits of animals. I like to do decorative work and sometimes I regard myself rather as an illustrator than as an artist. Anyway, to me, painting and drawing are essential to express myself, just like music and writing. I wish you much pleasure in viewing the drawings and paintings on this website.
